THE SLIDESHOW
The slideshowpotluck is a program created by Services for Artists founder Jimmy Sellars. The slideshowpotluck is a forum for artists, collectors, art professionals and the general public to connect and view art in an inexpensive and open environment for networking, to evoke discussion, and to introduce hundreds of images of art by artists that may have never had the opportunity to display their work for others to see and those who are working on the cutting edge of their medium but are not exhibiting in this area. The slideshowpotluck is also meant to educate both artists and non-artists as to what is happening around the world at any given moment in all media. Images are projected 20' x 14' on the adjacent building of our gallery/studio/office/sanctuary, on monitors in our space, and in various locations where the projector can travel. The slideshowpotluck is open to all artists working in all media. |
| The slideshowpotluck was re-introduced in Denver in 2005 during the opening of the new Hamilton wing of the Denver Art Museum and Denver's Arts Week. Since that time hundreds of artists have submitted images and hundreds of thousands have viewed the slideshows either in person, on the slideshowpotluck website or through Google Video and/or YouTube. SUBMIT
Submit up to 5 images by emailing them (each image in its own email) to entry@slideshowpotluck.com accompanied by your name and web address. All submissions remain the property of the artists and are given for projecting, displaying on monitors, and for uploading to the web for the world to view. If an image can fit in an email then we will accept it. If you are working in music, film, spoken work, or dance you may send either a .mov or a .m4v movie file not to exceed 5 minutes on a disc to 4430 Tennyson Street, Denver, CO, 80212 accompanied with your information (name and web address). |
UP NEXT
Display your artwork in various locations around the city of Denver during the Democratic National Convention either through projections or monitors. You may submit up to 5 images. All artists submitting will be displayed (as always - however, we may refuse at any time to display images - but you will be notified). The DNC slideshowpotluck will also be awarding prizes based on participation. $20 per artist. Open to all artists working in all media. Deadlines and prizes will be posted soon. |
